Abdulaziz Alshmasi

Digital accessibility expert and web developer from Riyadh.

Hello, I’m Abdulaziz. I’ve been blind since birth. I work as a Digital Accessibility Expert at the Digital Government Authority (DGA), where I help develop national accessibility standards, audit government platforms, and build tools that make the Kingdom’s digital services more inclusive. I contributed to shaping Saudi Arabia’s Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law.

Before DGA, I led accessibility at Ehsan Platform under SDAIA (2020-2024) and co-founded Studio Tanim for content production (2017-2019). I hold a Bachelor’s degree from King Abdulaziz University and three Udacity nanodegrees in web development.

I’ve been writing on this blog since 2009, about accessibility, technology, and our human experience with both. I’ve spoken at events including the Dubai Social Media Summit (2018) and GITEX Future Stars (2019).
